How to Remove Tar from Plastic Bathtub

Removing pitch or any other type of petrochemical plastic surfaces such as a bathtub, it can be a frustrating condition. The tar is designed to adhere to smooth surfaces and can be difficult to remove it. By following a few basic steps, you can remove the tar plastic bathtub and other surfaces that have a protective coating of plastic.

Instructions to remove tar from plastic bathtub: open the windows or get the plastic tub for a well ventilated area before using acetone. Pour a little acetone on a clean cloth and hold the wet cloth on the infected area with tar. Hold the cloth on the area for a few seconds and let the acetone work on site. Do not clean the area yet.

Remove the cloth, pour a little acetone on a clean part and reapply it over the area. In small rotating circles, begin to clean up the tar plastic surface. Remove the cloth. Use a clean cloth and place the old outdoors for now. Apply a little acetone in tar stain and clean start again in small circles on the area. Apply finally a bit of acetone in cloth and clean the area. The tar must be removed without damaging the plastic bathtub.
